I've supported Blues all my life...I went to University in Liverpool and know people who were at Hillsborough and pulled to safety....
This is one among many outstanding articles over the last couple of days

Wondered if there's scope for a 'Justice for the 96 ' chant at Forest
The football world looked after it's own with fabrice...and came together as one
I think that time has come again

... given half of them were kids and as a parent who's taken his kids to watch football as season ticket holders down the blues.....the families must be both relieved the truth is out and devastated 41 could have been saved...............

What would that achieve?

Just let the families get on with it.

It would show them that we are all one football family. It could just as easliy have happened to us or any club.

Well said Kp, that could easily have been us instead of Liverpool and we would have been treated exactly the same, the perception of Blues in the 80s was an organised band of multi racial thugs fighting & robbing at every away game.
Definately the polices would have used that reputation to have said it was the Zulus who caused this.
Those families deserve all of our support, and as for people saYING WHATS THE POINT its justice that is needed, we finally have the truth, but Justice is still some way away.

You do know they were playing Forest that day? Let the Forest fans decide what to do and join in if it's appropiate.

I know Everton are planning stuff and the lad who runs the Newcastle Fanzine so the 'geordies scots and scousers' brotherhood will kick in there...

The fact they were playing Forest that day is what prompted me to make the post
We did the '26 minute' ( don't quote me on the minute) tribute for the Belgian lad and Vile followed for Petrov.

It would be very poignant and as for Fabrice the wider football family react and look after their own. All football fans and Liverpool in particular suffered as a result of the perceptions generated and started by the police and Sun on that fateful day.

What has happened for 23 years is beyond horrific
Football fans everywhere should unite and make a point.....

We have a particular relevant opportunity at Forest...and as one of the more original and unique song creators we could make a difference....

I get the Forest bit......As I said I know people who were there, I watched it unfold on TV that day .went to Anfield to see the flowers, Bought the tribute single ( records in those days), Saw the most committed team performance I have ever witnessed when Liverpool beat Forest in a game that should never have been played and went with scouse mates to watch the final and share an amazing tribute between two local sets of rivals at Wembley ( they played everton)

and like many others thought the families should have let go a long time ago

Now 23 years later having seen the truth unfold the way the State let down those 96 people and their families is unbelievable

Some sort of tribute/ chant would be very appropriate...as football has been scarred for 23 years by the misrepresentations of the Police, The Sun, Government ignorance and mistakes that beggar belief by the judiciary...................

P.s
I was also crushed as a lad a few times in the old Cattell Road entrance and on one occasion v Leeds in the FA Cup my mate was almost crushed fatally against a barrier.....Health and safety didn't exist then

the only time i was in a crush situation @ stans wasthe leeds game in 73/74? It was a full house cos leeds were on an amazing run but not all ticket, remember the gangways on the tilton packed solid, and to escape i went down the front & jumped onto the running track walked round to the main stand and stood at the back.
The only other really bad cruching (bear in mind you were generally always packed like sardines in The Mob) was V man u in 1969 a night time fa cup classic 2.2 draw, people carried out of Kop after a surge left some with broken ribs!

I think we should do everything in our power to help get justice for the 96!

I think it was 23 minutes. 23 seems to be a common number here.

I think Forest have to take the laed in any recogintion.

Forget it, nobody genuinely cares, it will be just another trendy cause. This season's #prayformuamba, if you like.

your doing it again, speak for yourself mate. Just because you have a swinging brick where others have a heart, you dissed poor old Maulley for having the audacity to mention a dead child now when of the greatest injustices in Britain means F*** all to you, fine! but I think that those noble parents deserve appreciation & support!

You're (note the difference) stalking me now. I can't post anything without you popping up and for some strange reason dragging the Moors Murders into totally unrelated subjects.

I can't help but think I've walked straight into some kind of weird sect.

Im sorry but i aint buying it. I feel for those who were killed through no fault of their own and for their families. But this proaganda stuff is just doing my head in.

I do however think that the police and officals got it wrong in opening the gates, bad move in hinsight. They should have kept the thuggish fans who turned up outside. But if they didnt behave in this manner then they would not have forced the gates to have been opened and the rush would not have happened.

For me and im sorry if it sounds un caring but i do think fans thuggish behaviour contributed to this sad chapter in our game. Ive been going to football home and away for 40 years and have seen some bad things..its about time football fans take account of Their actions. In a way i belive that all fans who in some part with whtever club they are meant to support who have been involved in thuggish acts that scares the life out of decent human beings play there part in any sad story.

Why? Becaues it as a knock on effect and creates preceptions. How often are we all tarnished with the same brush because of our **** of the earth who follow blues?

Liverpool and everton is a nightmare derby but the media portrays it in a different light. Just like any derby game theress fans who can sit with each other and theres others who cant.

I dont buy it.

Take care

Liverpool fans are also to blame, im fed up with media that portrays there fans as angels.

All fans have a part to play.

Good Line Blues! youve obviosly slept on it overnight!

Back on subject Bluenose 65, noone has ever said that the liverpool fans were angels, we all accept that they were a crossection of soceity, good bad & indifferent just like Blues fans.
The point is that the police`s role is to protect and keep order, on the day they failed miserably to do so (Also lets not exempt the FA & Sheff Wed & whoever should have issued the safety certificate) & someone in the emergency hierarchy decided to pin the blame on the fans to take the spotlight of themselves.

Two pictures that sum up Hillsborough for me. 1, The game has been stopped & there are dozens of police milling around on the pitch but the crushing is still drastic but the only assistance is coming from Fans pulling people up onto tier above!
2 Slightly later on ONE ambulance on the pitch & fans using advertising hordings to carry injured fans away!!

The Police & ambulance staffs inertia came from the Match commander David Dukinfield who never issued any worthwhile orders after personally allowing the gates to be opened! What an absolute moran to have in charge!!

No Des, I posted it the same day as you...unless you're in Australia.

I really think it's time you gave this up as a bad job. Have you not thought about trying to take people on in the X Factor thread?

You won't get me anywhere near that one and you'll be safe to talk as much rubbish as you like.
